Story behind Eskedar Coffee

"Eskedar Coffee" is the cradle of quality coffee and Ethiopian traditions in Lithuania. "Wake up in a better tomorrow" - with this slogan we invite you to follow our values: community, sociality and sustainability. Eskedar, the founder and owner of this brand, relies on them in her everyday life.

Eskedar Lithuania has become as much a home as Ethiopia for a long time. She cares about creating a strong bridge between Lithuania and Ethiopia through coffee. Eskedar Coffee imports high-quality Arabica coffee from Africa, namely Ethiopia, where it was born and raised. Eskedar believes that in order to help Africa develop, it is necessary to create strong business relationships that will give impetus to real change.

In Lithuania, Eskedar not only roasts coffee, but also tries to provide opportunities to work and earn for those around them.Eskedar Coffee works closely with Lithuanian potters living in rural areas and produces cups and V-60 filters for coffee, with women raising disabled children, sews sweaters, molds traditional djebena coffee cups and donates part of its profits to charity organizations.

Eskedar is an inspiring example: she not only crossed the Sahara desert, sailed across the Mediterranean Sea in a small boat, completed business management studies in Lithuania, is a mother of three children, but also tries to help various communities with her actions, participating and initiating social projects, speaking publicly on sensitive issues or helping to those nearby. Eskedar Coffee also encourages giving back to the community and creating business opportunities both in Lithuania and Ethiopia and beyond.

"It is very important for me to preserve the connection between the past and the present, between Ethiopia and Lithuania, which has become a dear home. My children were born here, I started my business here and I am surrounded by many loved ones. I feel grateful for all the opportunities and help I have received, so I strive to personally help those less fortunate and encourage others to follow this path. I am glad that over coffee I can stimulate various discussions and raise sensitive issues, bring together people with different views and try to find solutions. We are each responsible for our daily actions and what kind of tomorrow we and our children will see.” – Eskedar Tilahun, coffee fairy.
